Design Award from the Federal Republic of Germany

The "ultimate price" for outstanding design: Gira products have been among the recipients of this coveted award.

From 1969 to 2014, the German Design Award was one of the top official awards for design in Germany. The prize was awarded by the German Design Council on behalf of the Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology. As participation was limited exclusively to winners of other competitions, the award was known as the "ultimate prize". In 2011, two Gira products won the award.
