Since 1953, the German Design Council has been acting as a leading authority for communication and knowledge transfer in the fields of design, branding, and innovation. This includes hosting the annual German Innovation Award with 40 categories in two competitive classes: “Excellence in Business to Consumer” and “Excellence in Business to Business“.

There are three types of awards:
