No, each system requires an operation unit. The system can be activated/deactivated using the G1, X1 or HomeServer via KNX.
Statuses can only be queried via KNX.
Firstly, the smartphone must be connected to the same WLAN as the alarm control unit. This is the case if you are able to find the alarm control unit when you “search for devices”.
Furthermore, you must have entered the username and password correctly at login. There is no “incorrect password” error message, you will simply see the red exclamation mark in the top corner of the app, which signals that the connection was not successful. It is sometimes helpful to delete a connection from the list in the app and re-establish it using the “+” symbol. Otherwise, check your user information in the GPA, enter your password again and transfer the project to the alarm control unit.
If an “inevitability factor” has been planned for the security area, this menu item can only be set with the installer PIN (default 1234). Prior to this, the administrator (default 0001) must activate the installer on the wireless operating unit under “User settings”.
The terms have the following meanings:
Internally activated: The operator is present. Only the alarm devices allocated to the external device group (group 1) are activated. Internal group devices are not taken into account.
Externally activated: The operator is absent. All devices are activated.
Example: A single-family house is fitted with a Gira alarm control unit. There are motion detectors in the house as well as in the garden and on the approach to the house that are connected to this control unit. The windows also have glass-breakage sensors. Intruders looking to gain access to the house will be detected by the motion detectors in the house when nobody is home. In this case, all the other detectors and sensors (including those outside) should also detect unauthorised access. The alarm control unit should therefore be externally activated when leaving the house. If the family is at home, the motion detectors inside the house do not need to be activated. Unauthorised access to the property grounds should, however, still be detected via the motion detectors and, in the worst-case scenario, by the glass-breakage sensors. Therefore, the control unit should be internally activated here.
External alarm devices are displays of an in-situ alarm status.
Essentially, alarms have two tasks:
In VdS systems, the local alert will only take place in conjunction with a telephone dialler.
