Aluminium is an indispensable asset of our time. Within the Gira design lines, it creates distinguished accents.
Aluminium was discovered fairly late: Hans Christian Oersted, a Danish physicist, first managed to extract the light metal through a chemical process in 1825. Today, aluminium has evolved into an essential part of modern life: it is the second-most widely used and the most commonly recycled metal worldwide. Among the Gira design lines, the shimmering material has become popular with variants such as Gira Esprit switches. No surprise, considering its refined aesthetics and strong durability.
Aluminium ranks among the three most widespread elements within the earth’s crust – but only as a compound in rocks, not in pure form. It is extracted by means of the so-called Bayer technique, a chemical process. Since it can be recycled and reused in various ways, the material also scores high in terms of sustainability.
The light metal stands out with its silvery surface. In the Gira product range, this surface is either smooth and polished or anodised with a matt finish. Its visual and haptic properties make aluminium particularly suitable for interior design.
In everyday life, the material proves surprisingly easy to maintain – scratch-proof and weather-resistant.
The first-class look and silky-soft feel of aluminium turns any room into a sophisticated living space. It fits perfectly into the Gira Esprit design line, which is known for its exclusive selection of materials. Switches are available in three colour variants: light gold, brown, and black.
While light gold has a luxurious appeal, brown exudes a sense of calm and comfort. Black, on the other hand, sets bold statements that work particularly well with interiors full of contrasts.
As part of the Gira product range, the Gira pushbutton sensor 4 is the first smart switch available in aluminium black, among other variants. A true eye-catcher to round off modern designs.
